Introducing the GOTMAD Crew!


Starting as friends, we shared the same passion for the outdoors. 
Through the years, hiking has tested and strengthened our bond, 
and from this, the idea to share these amazing experiences 
going through jungles and up mountains was born.

The GOTMAD crew have been hiking for adventure for more than 10 years, and if there's anything hiking has taught us, it's to believe in what we are capable of achieving, to never give up no matter how tough, and to be humble and appreciative of the simple things in life.

We are inspired by strong women (many of whom we had met along our hiking trails) who are not afraid to challenge themselves mentally and physically. Hiking challenges our inner sloth and pushes us to meet our goals, and besides it being an adrenaline rush, it's actually quite fun and exciting! We aim to spread the joy of hiking that we get, to as many female hikers (noob or not) as we can.

 So if you are keen on adventure, good company and profuse sweating, do join us on our hikes!

Mount Chemerong, Mount Berembun, Mount Langsir July 2018

From the very beginning, CBL was a trail I wanted to conquer. The combination of breathtakingly beautiful  sights, combined with its reputation for challenging hikers of all abilities and the 3 day 2 night duration were all factors that intrigued and excited the hiker in me. The trail known famously as CBL or Trans-CBL comprised a trek across Chemerong Waterfalls, Berembun Mountain and Langsir Waterfalls. A quick hashtag search on Instagram will very quickly tell you what I’m talking about when I say it’s a beautiful trek -- visually, that is. A dream come true! Mount Mat Chinchang / Gunung Mat Chinchang

Mount Mat Chinchang Apart from Gunung Raya, Gunung Mat Cincang (there are many other spellings, but this is the least complicated) is one of Langkawi island’s tallest peaks, at 709 metres above sea level. It’s where the famous cable car is located, at the upper northwest side of the island. Both mountains are firmly rooted in island legend, a story of the ultimate ancient bromance. Once, there were these two giants, Mat Cincang and Mat Raya. They were the best of friends. Their kids got married to each other and at the wedding reception, these two dads got into a fight. They went all out and started throwing household items at each other.   During the fight, a pot of gravy fell, creating Kuah town. A bowl of hot water fell and created Ayer Panas, and a jar fell and smashed into pieces, where Belanga Pecah is today.
